The company's lead program is a preclinical adjunct therapy in dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, a rare inherited disease in which the skin blisters and wounds in response to minor friction.
Approved and investigational therapies for the disease work by restoring a structural protein to the skin. Suvertis is developing a locally administered agent intended to be used alongside them, so that what those therapies deliver persists in the wound environment rather than being degraded.

Suvertis was founded by Hudson Tien. Prior computational biology and machine-learning work at Aikium, Inc. produced a first-author preprint on protein-expression prediction across 492,026 genes and 385 bacterial species.
